GIRLS at UNIVERSITY Paying for Degree With SEX WORK – LBC

and now one University is investigating after a sex workers support group ran a stall during freshers week one of those freshers fairs offering help for students University of Brighton has tried to distance itself from the decision by its Students Union to invite the sex workers outreach project to the events last week outreach project Sussex it's called the project stall offered condoms and leaflets and invited visitors two quotes come and play on a wheel of sexual well-being now at least one Labour MP Sarah champion has said that the University and the freshers week the operators of the stall and the Students Union are in her words Colette colluding with sex traffickers and abusers with organized crime and abusers is she right or is this just about making sure that if young people do engage in sex work while they're at university but that they are kept safe and healthy while they do so should a stall like that be allowed at freshers week Oh LBC Molly Smith joins me a sex worker and activist with swarm that's a sex worker movement at Molly good afternoon to you good afternoon colluding with organized crime and abusers what do you say to that yeah I mean I think that's really really a shocking thing for Sarah championship to have said about what is really basic outreach and health care and supports you know it seems obvious surely to all sensible people but picking up a leaflet and some free condoms freshers fayre you know isn't going to entice students into sex work students go into sex work because they need money you know because they need money to pay for the course to pay for the course materials to pay for the cost of living and the cost of housing and if you want you know people to not go into sex work then the way to do that is to improve their material conditions you know reinstate grants cut fees make student housing free or cheap and it's just this bizarre attack on something that's so routine you know just it seems very like I'm just it's it's kind of hard even to know where to start like let's backtrack for a lot of people listening and I will include myself in this um I don't think it is so routine for my 18 19 year old 20 year old son or daughter to be going to university and because of financial issues choose sex work oh no I didn't I didn't mean that sex work itself is routine certainly a lot of to do obviously a lot of students do do sex work I meant that um outreach and the health services turning up at fresh affairs is routine okay you know the service no no worries that was me being unclear you know the service is also linked to a service that provides support for women who use drugs in the Sussex area you know it's really common for freshers fairs for have the local sexual health clinic there you know and like you're just saying for the students like you know when if you need us in future when you need us in future like just a heads up we exist you know and giving out alright and was there anything was there anything I'm not sure the penile be that useful was there anything on the stall that said don't do this I mean I don't I don't see why there would be like students aren't persuaded in either direction by a leaflet that says do this or don't do this as I say they are you know people only that call this number if you want a Medora call this number if you want alternative ways of earning money because I'm tempted to say get a job Molly get a job I mean loads of students house jobs and this is one of the jobs that some students do and absolutely the service providing other jobs and support with of course sex work is a job it's the thing you do to earn money that's the job more than that there isn't it no sleeping with people that you don't know for money is just a job I mean obviously it's stigmatized well I'm not actually it's not that's not the my route into the conversation stigma might its care for the person who's doing it is my route in fear for the person who's doing it whether physical or emotional fear or mental health fear that's my concern as well which is precisely why there should be support services at freshers fairs and other out you know other places where it's appropriate to do outreach where you might encounter people who are considering going into sex work or who are already in sex work who don't know that there are services there you know this service will help with getting into housing with with yes with exiting if people want with counselling with emotional support with practical support with healthcare you know like those things absolutely if we're starting from a position of care for someone who is doing sex work we normalize are we normalizing a trade that is exploiting the kind of poverty shorthand poverty that you're talking about we're normalizing a trade that exploits that rather than intervening in healthier ways in ways that would make it unnecessary um I mean absolutely if he wants her you know ensure that fewer students need to go into sex work then the sex worker rights movement will absolutely support you if you you know if you want to like make well if it's just a job why are you worried about it really if it's just a job why why would you join me in that campaign you see I say it's much more than a job I say it's a material danger to your physical and mental and emotional health long term you say it's just a job sure I mean it's work I'm not saying it's good work to say something as a job isn't to say that it's amazing or that you know I love that people have to do it and harming themselves in doing it I mean yeah of course there's like under criminalization as we currently have in the UK talking about the long run talking about human pain human sorrow human loss human degradation I'm talking about those things I mean that sounds very flowery and abstract compared to the kind of material concerns or say well it's not sorry and a detract if you're feeling human degradation horrible I mean sure but like I don't see what how blocking people's access to healthcare into the courts will make people less the great suggesting I'm not suggesting the location of not allowing a health and support store freshers fayre i under you you know that there's all kinds of access and offer of physical sexual mental health services in your average university campus that's already there isn't the reality that a university campus which is tailored largely to very young people should be seeking to stop this kind of work from happening at all this kind of abuse from happening at all this kind of self harming from happening at all rather than normalizing it by sticking a stall up in freshers week i don't think that having health care and support on offer is normalizing it I think it's just acknowledging Lyra's already are not that constitute that some students will be selling sex and saying that those students deserve health care and support you know an emotional support and help the next thing if that's what they want and that seemed absolutely appropriate to me one in six is the estimate one in six students involved in this kind of activity do you go along with that would you say it's higher lower than that I mean the numbers are really it's really hard to get accurate numbers but yeah certainly a lot of students sell sex or sexual services or some kinds you know what sir you know funds their degree I'm just thinking back to my college days and and the reason it would never have occurred to me to get some extra money by having sex with people for money is that it was just not on the radar it just wasn't there I hope even if it had been there and I'm pretty sure even if it had been there I wouldn't have made that choice I'm not saying that in any grand aren't I clever way I'm just saying I think all kinds of things existed in my psyche that would have naturally stopped me from making that choice if you place I mean if you places at all if you place a stall in the middle of freshers week saying sex workers who were here to help you are normalizing students selling sex to live during their mean University years aren't you it's famously the world's oldest profession I really don't think that a stall at fresh is best you know interviewer selling sex or thinking about selling sex here's where you go to get health care and support is it the oldest profession for some of the brightest and best going on to our universities to study and go on in life and make their way in life student poverty is absolutely endemic because you know of huge fees of loans rather than grants of incredibly high cost of housing yeah you know if you want to like sort those things out then absolutely a few students will go into sex work but you know that most students don't go into sex work most of them get a job in a bar or a shop or some other way of doing it studying tutoring whatever there are alternatives why don't we focus on those healthier alternatives in your store because the outcome of that would be the same students who are signing for sex work and that will drive them further from sources of support that will make them more isolated and ultimately more vulnerable Molly thank you very much indeed for talking to us today so I think we are getting very close to peak Vemma to peak degeneracy when we now have young women and men but mainly women going to university to take a course or degree that is most likely going to be completely worthless the likes of Gender Studies and then they are paying for their time at university by becoming a sex worker by selling their by day and the woman pushing this trying to normalize it are now BC is an open communist not just a socialist not just hey chive II but full-blown AIDS full-blown communism it's incredible and she's a feminist she's a feminist so is this is this like the final destination of feminism where they're pushing young girls to become sex workers is that where feminism goes I just it's incredible some people might argue but Karl these are independent women and they get to choose what they do is their body my body my choice but the fundamental issue is and let me know in the comments if you have a daughter if you're a man or woman who has a daughter or plans on having a daughter in the future would you want your daughter your child to become a sex worker and of course I'm guessing most people would not like that they would be like holy shit don't you dare do that so no this is not normal as Shelagh Fogarty says it isn't a job is it of course it's not a job so anyway please let me know your thoughts on this and just let me know does it get any worse than this what will they try to push next like dislike subscribe on sub scribe please comment ello Sassoon

I have a suspicion that the prostitutes are disproportionately white and the "customers" are disproportionately non-white. I could be wrong but that's what I suspect.

I wonder if the harlot calling has the common sense, some vestige of self-love and self-respect to lie under White clients only – or she's of the ugly, hopeless persuasion of multiracial / interracial harlotry. 🤔

I miss the time when White Women, howsoever coveted by the male muck of lesser races, were Ladies – and as Ladies – naturally, were perfectly beyond the scope of access of any male of any lesser race.

It nauseates Me to no end to see the irremediable decay of the once shag-sually entirely inaccessible to the exotic muck, White Women's, contemporary female progeny. It is unfathomable that hundreds upon hundreds of generations of the Women of My Race that used to have a class, that loved themselves – begot a generation of filthy multiracial whores, who, far from treating their precious bodies as their very own sanctity – perceive them as live dustbins and receptacles of filth of protohuman garbage with dark ugly cocks.

Oh, by that way, the prime attraction of the nonwhite muck of Europe is not the social welfare, but the "white pussy". How utterly insulting!
That in a couple of generations the race of Ladies (men always have been a mixed bag – I will not mention them) turned into a race of mudsharks, exhibitionists, whores, topless tanners, nudists, fuck-arounds, harlots for every lesser race to shag-sually avail of – is as incomprehensible, fantastically improbable as it's fact, a hideously horrid one at that.

Blame the feminist for taking women’s jobs away because they don’t like them showing some leg and holding up cards for F1. As a man I wish I could do some sex work. Labour are fucking nuts. Shelia would never get any sex work, a blind man would not fuck this blob. No one will ever fuck this bitch how does a guy get a hard on looking at this fucking pig.

We've discussed this in my radfem groups and this is disgusting. Unwanted sex is not work. It's desperation. It's got no place in Feminism. This isn't Feminism. Your body's orifices are not work places.
Carl please look up the differences between liberal feminism and radical feminism.
Radical Feminism is not Mainstream the way liberal "feminism" is. Liberal Feminism is trash. In fact, libfems frequently attack radfems, call us names, dox us, etc.

A conversation about Women having Sex isn't really Shelagh's "Field of Expertise"..And as for blaming it connecting to Single Mums is ridiculous..We live more open&Permissive Societies. The Social Stigan which once attached itself to "Hooking"has been eroded..Look at all the Sex u can see on the Tv,the internet,Strip Clubs all over the place..And this why we are, where we are!!

people always say prostitution exists for a long time
the argument is bullshit in its core
but regardless of, in the past it was not pushed as the norm at least
just like homosexuality, yes it always existed but it was never pushed as the norm , actually worse than that, in some cases the establishment sells it as better than hetersexuality

What a perceptive statement, if she had any insight. Material, emotional well being. Helps if people are brought up better, then they won't become narcissists like Shelagh. The left exploits that many people's homes are broken, even when they are not – then they become sex workers, Labour MP's, SJW radio presenters, civil servants and state professionals.

I just wet myself Laughing when Frogarty said "Instead of being a Prostitute they could get a job in a bar" Two things wrong with that 1) We need migrants to do this sort of work because we are too lazy to job like that (laying on my back = much better) and 2) Pubs and Bars are closing down every day.

High class prossie pimping grounds. If you want to run a business open a brothel but don’t try to glamourise whoring rather than working. If you can’t pay, don’t go. My father told me that 40 years ago. How true I have found that statement.
